Cranmore strikes twice at prestigious awards
Northern Irish IT company Cranmore has achieved the rare feat of winning two awards at the prestigious Belfast Telegraph IT Awards.
The public sector software and consultancy specialist took home gongs in both the Mobile App of the Year and Young IT Professional of the Year categories.
Cranmore secured its nomination for Mobile App of the Year for its work with London North Eastern Rail (LNER) on the Navigator App, which helps their 3,400 staff manage complex shift patterns, payroll, and overtime.
Meanwhile, Cranmore developer James Galbraith took home Young IT Professional of the Year for his work on a range of complex projects, including for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and The Executive Office.
The 25-year-old from Broughshane in Ballymena also impressed judges by receiving international recognition for his Master’s dissertation, which was published at a major conference in Porto earlier this year.
“These awards represent two major achievements by Cranmore,” said managing director Chris Price.
“Not only would I like to thank the Cranmore team and our London North Eastern Rail partners, but also the judging panel for recognising the quality of the work by Cranmore and the calibre of our people.
“We’re very proud of the work we’re doing here and the relationships we’re building.”
Operations director Heather McCook added: “It’s amazing to see the Navigator App winning Mobile App of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph IT Awards. This was a hugely complex development project that provides real time data to London North Eastern Rail colleagues at considerable scale.
“The app is saving frontline staff tens of thousands of hours and has won wide praise among its users.
“We’re hugely proud of what it has achieved.
“I also have to congratulate James Galbraith on winning Young IT Professional of the Year. James has been with us for three years and has already achieved so much.
“Hugely proud of the entire team today and already looking forward to tomorrow.”
